MRNY Style & Travel is an independent website and the brainchild of long-term New Yorkers, Mark Thompson and Robert Doyle (aka MRNY), both of whom photograph where they travel.

A member of SATW (Society of American Travel Writers) and NYTWA (New York Travel Writers Association), Mark is a journalist, editor, and photographer whose work is published in various periodicals. The author of two novels—Wolfchild (2000), My Hawaiian Penthouse (2007)—Mark is the recipient of fellowships at The MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, and Blue Mountain Center. He holds a Ph.D. in American Studies.

Robert is the producer of the documentary “We Are All Children of God” (1999).

Founded in 1998, MRNY has been one of the leading sources for LGBT nightlife entertainment and photography.

Everything on MRNY Style & Travel is tried and tested by MRNY editors, Mark Thompson and Robert Doyle. They have slept at least one night at every hotel featured on MRNY Style & Travel and eaten at least one meal at every restaurant featured on MRNY Style & Travel. All wines, fragrances, and skincare products featured on MRNY Style & Travel have been sampled before review.

The cameras used by Mark and Robert for photography on MRNY and MRNY Style & Travel are Canon 40D, Canon 20D,  and Canon G16, as well as a Leica D-LUX 3.
